CARE in East Grinstead and Lingfield

We are delighted to announce that CARE has been selected as a recipient of a Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service 2019.

The Queen’s Award is the highest honour a voluntary group can receive, equivalent to the MBE, and is given for exceptional work done by volunteer groups in their communities. Only a small number of the thousands of charities across the UK receive one. It represents a tremendous achievement, particularly for a small charity like ours and would not have been possible without the hard work, dedication and positive attitude of all our volunteers, whatever their role.

Care is a charity founded in 1988 by the churches in East Grinstead, Lingfield and Dormansland.
Whilst founded by the church, CARE volunteers are not all church goers, we welcome people from all walks of life.

Care is organised, run and staffed entirely by volunteers.

Can you HELP?

Could you give a little of your time to help others?
We are a small charity and your support could make a huge difference.
details

The services we offer are those of a friend or neighbour: time and a helping hand. Primarily we provide transport to and from medical appointments. Whilst we will endeavour to assist, the service is provided by a limited number of volunteers and there are limits to what we can do. It is not a replacement for professional services.

To cover our costs, clients are invited to make a donation for the service they have received.

If you would like to support our work with a donation, please email our treasurer by clicking here

How it works: Clients ring the CARE number 01342 410086 between 9.00 am and 2.00 pm Monday to Friday and the Duty Officer finds a volunteer who can help them.

Ours is not an original concept and there are similar schemes in other areas of the UK.
